The project is located in the sea area of Kenli, Dongying. It is the first million-kilowatt offshore photovoltaic project in China to be connected to the grid for power generation. It is also the world’s largest gigawatt-level (gigawatt is a unit of electrical power, 1 gigawatt is equal to 1000 megawatts, also equal to 1,000,000 kilowatts, 1 gigawatt of power facilities can supply the electricity demand of a medium-sized city or large industrial area) offshore photovoltaic project that has been successfully connected to the grid. The photovoltaic platform is 60 meters long, 35 meters wide, and weighs 65 tons. It is tilted 15 degrees to the south and consists of 780 photovoltaic modules.
