OHC R70 Standing Seam Roof System

Standing Seam Roof

OHC R70 standing seam roof system is a raised metal, designed to float to accommodate thermal expansion & contraction. It has been extensively tested to ensure the highest level of performance for weather-tightness and structural integrity, and approved for wind uplift, hail and fire resistance. Lock 360 seaming profiles are available with this panel.

The panels run continuously from the ridge down to the eave, and the seams are usually locked or mechanically seamed to ensure watertightness.

They use hidden clips or concealed fasteners. This eliminates penetrations on the panel surface, minimizing potential leak points and enhancing corrosion resistance.

Key features

  • Raised seams: Typically 25–50 mm (1–2 inches) high to keep water away from the flat areas.

  • Hidden fasteners: Clips or concealed anchors attach panels to the substructure, avoiding exposed screws that could cause leaks.

  • Panel profiles: Snap-lock, mechanical lock, batten seam, and nail strip are common types.

Advantages

  • Durability: Lifespan can exceed 40–70 years depending on material and coating.

  • Watertightness: Raised seams and concealed fasteners reduce leak risk.

  • Thermal Movement Accommodation: Floating clip systems let the metal expand and contract naturally without causing panel deformation.

  • Fire Resistance: Non-combustible metal provides high fire safety ratings.

Applications

  • Commercial warehouses, factories, schools, stadiums.

  • Modern-style residential homes.

  • Long-span structures where watertightness is critical.
